Dan Heller is a partner with DZH Phillips LLP.  His experience includes leading the Assurance and Business Advisory Group and the Exit Planning and Transaction Practice Group. 

As a result of audit and review fieldwork, Dan has benefited clients in improving their profit margins by analyzing pricing policies, developing internal control systems, implementing cost studies, increasing market share by maximizing shelf space, researching industry-specific depreciation allowances, and designing management reporting practices.

Dan also has expertise in exit planning and transactions.  He has developed and executed a variety of tailored programs including exit strategies, due-diligence reporting, business plans, investor presentations, and capital restructuring. 

Dan’s industry experience includes food processing, consumer goods, wholesale and distribution, apparel, technology, manufacturing, and international operations.  He works with clients to meet third-party reporting requirements and to meet investor relations and internal management needs.  Dan is also highly qualified in the tax area brings his expertise to our corporate partnership and individual clients.

Prior to the formation of DZH Phillips, Dan was a partner at one of the predecessor firms, Smith, Lange & Phillips LLP.

Education

Dan graduated from the University of Colorado and has pursued graduate studies in taxation at Golden Gate University.

Associations

Dan is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, The National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, California League of Food Processors, the Alliance of Merger and Acquisitions Advisors, and the National Center for Employee Ownership.  In addition, Dan has served on the board of several nonprofit social services organizations, including the position of Treasurer.
