Location
Is there any place more exciting to work than the San Francisco Bay Area? Located in the heart of the desirable Financial District, DZH Phillips is at the center of all the action. A beautiful and diverse culture invites exploration through a wide variety of arts and community events, and, of course, there is no match for the City's amazing culinary offerings. San Francisco is arguably one of America's best food cities, and is home to many well-known restaurants guaranteed to please even the most discerning palette. Another advantage to working in the City is the convenient public transportation. Most of DZH Phillips' clients are located within an hour's commute of San Francisco, and, with easy access to BART, Muni, and bus and ferry transportation, you'll never be too far from work or home.

Location
For the sports fan, DZH Phillips is located adjacent to the home of the 2010 and 2012 World Series Champions—the San Francisco Giants. One of the oldest baseball teams in the United States, the Giants have won more games than any team in the history of American baseball—more wins even than any North American professional sports team. To the delight of our many employees who are baseball enthusiasts, our office is within walking distance of the AT&T ballpark. Add to that the annual DZH Phillips free game perk ... it's almost better than Christmas to some of our more die-hard staff members.

DZH Phillips' location in the bustling San Francisco Financial District places our employees in close proximity to the Ferry Building, which offers renowned local farmers markets and easy access to other Bay Area locations. Whether you're exploring the vibrant heart of San Francisco or the diverse communities of the Bay Area's nine counties, there's really something for everyone. And for those with farther-reaching travel desires, San Francisco provides the convenience of travel to multiple locations throughout the world via San Francisco International Airport. Attractive Benefits

Package
DZH Phillips offers a competitive salary and bonus package starting with five weeks paid time off plus eight paid holidays. After two years with our firm, paid time off increases to an almost unheard of six weeks! We also provide paid overtime, plus time-and-a-half (for weekends and holidays). Our benefits package includes paid health, dental, and vision insurance, in addition to long-term and short-term disability insurance. For those employees putting in the added effort required during our busy seasons, we offer perks such as lunch and dinner delivery and massage sessions.

Advancement
Most employees place upward mobility and promotion opportunities at the top of their "wish list." DZH Phillips is always looking for staff to take more leadership roles and progress in the firm as they grow in both skill and ability. We have many opportunities for staff members who strive for career advancement. Central to our firm's philosophy, however, is the importance of maintaining a proper work/life balance in the midst of career advancement. To make sure you remain on top of work/life balance, we commit to not exceeding a 55-hour work week during busy seasons and 40 hours during the non-busy season. Growth
We are proud to have founded DZH Phillips University, where we conduct in-depth training to address more than the typical "how to" sessions. As part of our university training, we work to develop well-rounded business leaders by teaching marketing, business understanding, and interpersonal skills.

We also have a Partner-in-Training program that identifies the key attributes needed to become a partner. We teach how to cultivate those traits as you progress in your career. All work and no play makes for a very dull firm. DZH Phillips values fun because we value our staff. Nothing creates a stronger bond than a shared laugh and time spent together just having fun. Dr. David Abramis at Cal State Long Beach has studied fun at work for years. He discovered that people who have fun on the job are more creative, more productive, and better decision-makers. To make sure our staff has enough opportunities for fun, we have a full calendar of firm-sponsored activities including: soccer and basketball teams, regularly scheduled social events such as a Giants game, BBQs, happy hours, and parties celebrating post-busy seasons and holidays. And to keep things casual (well, as casual as we can in a CPA firm), we have designated jeans days including every Friday and certain weeks during the summer.

We continually seek ways to be of service to others through various volunteer opportunities. We have been involved in a number of local programs including helping to build houses for the needy and working with high-risk kids.

Opportunities to Learn & Grow
Your first few years with DZH Phillips are the most important when it comes to making the best choices as you progress in your career.

New employees are exposed to tax and audit, and gain practical experience working with multiple industries such as: manufacturing and distribution, non-profits, professional services, real estate and retail. This variety helps you, and us, evaluate the best matches to your skill set and career goals.

Your focus will encompass the complete audit process and practice, not just a few dedicated areas. You'll interact with various company CFOs and controllers through the day-to-day audit and tax work. This experience will teach you about all areas of an audit and provide you with unique insight into high-level positions throughout the industry.

Most jobs last from one to three weeks and expose you to a variety of seniors and managers. Experiencing various work styles and collaborating with multiple teams helps you decide what types of interactions and personalities you prefer.
